Activities on Beech Mountain
Beech Mountain NC is THE place to visit in the
High Country for a North Carolina mountain
vacation! Among the outdoor activities enjoyed
on Beech Mountain would be golf at the Beech
Mountain Club, Skiing at Ski Beech, hiking along
the Blue Ridge and fishing in many nearby
streams.
With temperatures in the warmer months
generally 10-15 degrees cooler than the
surrounding High Country mountain areas, Beech
Mountain is normally the coolest place in the
area. With such great weather in the summer and
spring months, visitors can enjoy the many
resort amenities that can be found on Beech
Mountain NC.
Golfing, tennis, horseback riding, mountain
biking, hiking, and fishing are all popular
activities in the warmer months, and allow
vacationers a way to get out and see the
breathtaking views from atop Beech Mountain’s
highest peaks. There are several locations, such
as Perry Park and Coffey Lake, that are
excellent places to check out hiking trails and
mountain scenery.
Golfing is perhaps the most popular activity
during the warmer months, as Beech Mountain is
the center of the High Country golf areas.

Glen Golf Course and Grandfather Golf and
Country Club, are located throughout the area,
and Beech Mountain Golf Club is located in the
town.
Buckeye Lake, including a 7-acre park, is one of
the town’s most popular recreational areas,
located at the bottom of the mountain. With
fishing, hiking and bird watching areas, as well
as an indoor recreation facility complete with
basketball courts, tennis courts, an indoor
track and exercise facilities, Buckeye Lake is
always a favorite.
